چکیده

The near horizon limits of M2 and D3 branes probing special holonomy cones give rise to supersymmetric AdS4 × M7 and AdS5 × M5 solutions of D = 11 and type IIB supergravity, respectively, where M7 and M5 are special types of Einstein spaces. Here we will show the existence of consistent Kaluza-Klein truncations of D = 11 and type IIB supergravity on such M7 and M5 down to matter-coupled supergravities in D = 4, 5. We explicitly discuss some details of the particular cases when M7 and M5 are Sasaki-Einstein.

Validation of Shell Theory for Modeling the Radial Breathing Mode of a Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper, the radial breathing mode (RBM) frequency of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is studied based on the thin shell theory. For this purpose, SWCNT is considered as an elastic thin cylindrical shell. The dynamic equation of RBM is derived using the Hamilton’s principle. An analytical solution of the RBM frequency of SWCNT is obtained. The advantage of this formulation is that i...

Breathing mode for systems of interacting particles.

We study the breathing mode in systems of trapped interacting particles. Our approach, based on a dynamical ansatz in the first equation of the Bogoliubov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon hierarchy allows us to tackle at once a wide range of power-law interactions and interaction strengths, at linear and nonlinear levels. This both puts in a common framework various results scattered in the literature,...

Radial Breathing Mode Frequency of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Via Multiple-Elastic Thin Shell Theory

In this paper, the radial breathing mode (RBM) frequencies of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) are  obtained based on the multiple-elastic thin shell model. For this purpose, MWCNT is considered as a multiple concentric elastic thin cylindrical shells, which are coupled through van der Waals (vdW) forces between two adjacent tubes. Lennard-Jones potential is used to calculate the vdW ...

Consistent supersymmetric Kaluza–Klein truncations with massive modes

We construct consistent Kaluza–Klein reductions of D = 11 supergravity to four dimensions using an arbitrary seven-dimensional Sasaki–Einstein manifold. At the level of bosonic fields, we extend the known reduction, which leads to minimal N = 2 gauged supergravity, to also include a multiplet of massive fields, containing the breathing mode of the Sasaki– Einstein space, and still consistent wi...

Application of a Novel Motion Resistant Phase Ordering Technique to Segmented 2D Imaging of the Heart

Introduction Prospective navigator-echo controlled scans are a widely used as an alternative to breath-hold acquisitions, generating respiratory motion free images with minimal patient co-operation. Such acquisitions require the setting of a navigator acceptance window (normally 5mm), usually about the end expiratory pause position, resulting in a scan efficiency during steady free-breathing of...
